My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ONYXIA is a female lynxpoint Siamese-mix cat with plush fur and beautiful blue eyes. She has soft gray tabby points.  Onyxia is a chatty and affectionate companion that wants to be wherever YOU are, preferably in your lap, "helping" you with whatever you're doing.. When she can't be in your lap, her next favorite place is a cushy pillow right next to you, near all the action. She is super friendly with people and will greet your friends and family with enthusiasm and curiosity. She's a people cat…which means she wants to be the ONLY cat in your life. She really doesn’t like other cats, and dogs are not something she will tolerate either. She loves treats (maybe a little TOO much!) and small, fluffy toys she can bat around and shred to pieces. Onyxia was found as a stray, and was immediately comfortable and happy to be in a home.  She is not shy of people, although unfamiliar noises can startle her initially. Older children would be best as she sometimes has a tendency to become overstimulated.  Onyxia will make a wonderful and affectionate companion in a single-pet household where she can be lavished with love.

ONYXIA has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, is negative for FeLV and FIV, is in excellent health, and includes a free wellness visit with our vet partners. To meet ONYXIA in foster care, submit an adoption application for consideration at CatRescues.org/Adopt or a paper copy available at PetSmart. A volunteer will contact you within 3-5 business days for a possible meet and greet. The $100 adoption fee allows us to continue to provide care and find loving homes for abandoned and neglected cats in our Eugene/Springfield community. Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All potential adopters are required to complete our application and contract. Our contract stipulates the requirements for care of our pets. These documents are available through e-mail or at our adoption events. The documents are reviewed by our staff and together with a face to face interview we explore the potential new home. If all parties agree to the specifics of the contract the dog or cat can go home. Adoption fee varies with age of pet.
All pets are current on vaccinations, health checked by our veterinarian, De-wormed, treated with flea medication, spayed or neutered, and cats are felv/fiv tested.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide care and find loving homes for cats and kittens of our community, with a focus on those with special needs. Currently we only work with Cats. We offer temporary housing in foster homes until they can be placed through our adoption process. We have adoption centers within both Petsmarts in Eugene, at Chad Drive, near Costco, and 29th and Willamette; PetCo by Valley River Center and Wags Dog Emporium on Coburg Rd. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network works with humane societies, other animal rescue groups, the public and government animal services agencies to offer them relief from their overpopulation problem. All cats in our custody receive the medical care they need. Cat Rescue & Adoption Network is a non-profit organization. All money raised is used to help Cat Rescue & Adoption Network save as many animal lives as possible.
