My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sam (A135789) is a 9-month-old husky mix who weighed 48.3 pounds on intake!11/05/24 Sam, previously known as Manny, is back at the shelter and eager to find his new family to love! Sam was surrendered back to the shelter because the older cat in the home was not adjusting well to sharing space with Sam. He was said to do wonderfully with the cats in the home and also does great with dogs! Sam was said to be shy around strangers and may bark initially. He loves children but was not always aware of his body around the toddler in the home. He might do best in a home without small children to avoid accidental knock overs. Sam was said to be kennel-trained and housebroken (will go to the door). For kenneling his owner was giving him treats to go in and he was said to have done great! Sam also knows the command sit but would still benefit from attending a basic obedience class. He is still very much a pup and eager to learn! Sam also was said to enjoy chewing on toys! If you are interested in meeting Sam, please let us know!

09/06/24 These four young'uns are Levi, Tiny, Bea and Manny! These pups were left at the shelter without very much information after their previous owner ran into housing issues. Each of these pups has been very outgoing with people while at the shelter. They have been slightly intimidated by the other, bigger dogs in the kennels, but their previous owner said they did well with other dogs when introduced properly. Their previous owner also recommended slow intros to strangers, but none of these pups has ever been around children or other animals. Please keep this in mind if planning to introduce them to any. They were described as being outgoing, friendly, affectionate and sometimes shy. They were said to ride well in the car, but they can be rough when playing and tend to jump on people. These young ones did not arrive at the shelter in the best condition, so they may not be used to being indoor dogs. They are looking for patient homes that will help them learn to be housebroken and kennel trained. Enrolling them in a basic obedience class with a certified trainer would be a great way to help them learn some basic manners! If you are interested in any of these beautiful pups, please give us a call!November 5, 2024, 9:57 pm
