Sandy was brought in by her previous owner on September 14, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
This adorable little furry potato is Sandy! Sandy can be timid at first and is still getting used to human companionship, but we know that once she adjusts, she will blossom into a wonderful member of the family! Sandy, like all guinea pigs, will need a large enclosure with plenty of room to exercise and explore (8+ square feet is best). An easy and inexpensive way to give your guinea pig a DIY palace is called a C&C fleece lined cage (google it!). In addition to space to run around, Sandy will need unlimited timothy hay to munch on and toys to keep her active and enriched! Healthy greens, veggies, and pellets are also an essential part of her diet, as well as a daily dose of vitamin C! Don't forget to bring a secure carrier for a safe journey home!

Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized.
