My story

Message for details:
This pet is available for adoption in a foster home. To adopt them, please email us at SDCadoptions@sdhumane.org and provide a good callback number.

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Louie is a big handsome guy with a perfect white vest and four white socks on his paws. He needs help as he continues to build his self confidence. He still gets scared of loud noises and he prefers a calm environment. He is house trained and he wants so badly to be loved and cared for but first he needs to be assured that he can trust his people and his environment. It won't take long but he will need people with patience and understanding who will encourage him. We can help you with that and we can tell you what has been working for us. He allows us to pet him and shows us that he is almost ready to solicit pets. It won't be long. Do you have plenty of space at your place because he is a big guy and do you have plenty of love in your heart because he hasn't had much of that. Do you want to invest the time and effort in showing Louie that you will be his buddy and will take good care of him? If so, Louie will be your companion and you will wonder how you ever lived without Louie by your side.

At SDHS:
Louie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered and is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
