My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Chi Chi was brought into our care by a community member on October 29, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Chi Chi! This sweet soul can be a little shy at first, and he's still learning to feel safe in new environments. He'd thrive in a calm, adult only home without too much hustle and bustle. Chi Chi's gentle spirit makes him a great match for other dogs, big or small, and he has a positive history of getting along well with other canine companions. With a bit of patience and a lot of love, Chi Chi will blossom into a loyal and loving friend. If you're looking for a peaceful buddy who just needs a little extra time to feel at home, Chi Chi may be the perfect fit! Make sure to bring a leash and collar when you come adopt this bundle of fun!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for their new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
