Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! My name is Simba, and I’m 4 1/2. My mom loved me a lot but due to her circumstances she had to give me up when she moved. It was hard at first to get used to new people and I got scared for a little while, but once I know you’re ok I’ll never leave your side.
Have you ever wanted to know what it’s like to have a real shadow follow you around? Maybe you need someone to supervise you folding laundry? I’m always up for a trip to the bathroom with you!
My foster mom says I’m a good boy! I love food and treats and will do just about anything you want to get a bite! I always come when she calls me and love to be around the family. My foster mom has these big furry animals that walk around the house too. She tells me to “leave it” when I sniff them so I listen and walk away. They make weird noises and like to rub up against me sometimes. I’ve heard her call them cats. I don’t mind them and ignore them mostly. There are other dogs here and I like them a lot!
I never have accidents in the house and bark to get their attention to let me outside. I like to please my family a lot and try to be the bestest boy while I’m here waiting for my family to pick me.
I am all Heeler and can be hard headed sometimes but it’s only because I’m smart. I also like to use my voice to warn you of anything outside you should know about. I just need a family that understands how we heelers think is all! I like to guard my food so no one else takes it from me. It’s mine! I’m getting better at understanding I don’t have to do that, and will get fed again later. I just worry sometimes that they will pick up my food and take it from me.
I need a family or person that has been around heelers before and understands how we think and how loyal we are. Once
we bond together I’ll be your most faithful companion ever!
Will you give me a chance to be part of your family?

We do require an adoption contract to be signed at time of adoption. We have a virtual home-check process (don't forget to submit photos of the exterior of your home!) Adoption fees range depending on the age of the dog. We do have dogs located at qualified fosters throughout the state and also out of state.

Since all rescue dogs live in foster homes, there is no single facility to meet pups.
You will need to contact Ewenity Farms HDH to make arrangements to meet the rescue dog after you have an approved app on file. Apps can be filled out at ewenityfarm.org

More about this rescue
We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.
It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
