Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Handsome Mr Simba is an owner surrender (owner moved to a place where she can't take him).
He is great with other dogs, loves kids, and ignores my cats. Enjoys walks, light jogs, and hiking. He loves to play and get belly rubs. As with most herding dogs he does get mouthy during play but doesn’t hurt. Wouldn’t recommend children under 10 only because he can be mouthy. He is crate trained and food motivated. He knows crate, sit, down, place, and stay. He will also wait to be told to eat. Walks well on the leash.
He is slightly standoffish when he meets new people but warms up quickly and will become your shadow. He’s loyal, protective, playful, and chill in the house. He loves his chew toys and hasn’t tried to eat anything of ours!
He is super smart, loves to please, can be stubborn but that’s a heeler, and extremely smart! He would rather be with people than by himself or with my dogs, although they do play well in the backyard together!
He does well at the vets with men and women, loves car rides.. here is what has been said about him... Adoptable Simba is a 4 yr old Heeler (red & blue mix), neutered male, medium energy level. He is a sweet and cool dude!
Simba needs a heeler savvy home with someone who is kind, patient and can take charge without being a bully. His former home had some domestic issues and he needs a touch of firmness laced with kindness.
Please consider adding Simba to your family. He is a protector and such a good dog! He deserves to have his own family where he is loved and spoiled!

More about this rescue
We are a small, foster-based rescue organization located in Southwest Florida. Being small helps us give more one-on-one attention to individual dogs and their needs. Rescued dogs are kept in our homes and treated as our own. Herding dogs are unique. They are highly intelligent and require much of the owner’s attention. The dogs are evaluated, when they come into the rescue, for any temperament and health issues. Then they are given basic obedience, socialization and rehabilitation as it is necessary.
It is our sole purpose to find forever homes for these loving, wonderful dogs that have been discarded through no fault of their own. All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, micro-chipped, and on flea and heartworm preventative.
