My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Toro: The Affectionate XL Bully Prince

Toro is an irresistibly lovable XL Bully with a heart of gold and a personality as big as his sturdy frame. Playful and friendly, he truly embodies the spirit of a "Big Baby." Toro is a sweet, affectionate companion who adores people and other animals. When he loves you, you'll know it from the endless, loving licks he gives—his unique way of showing affection. He’s also a professional cuddler, often curling up right next to you (or sometimes even on top of you) during naps and bedtime.

Toro’s devotion to his loved ones runs deep. He wants to be by your side for every moment, whether you're snuggling on the couch or running errands around town. Expect a cheerful passenger when you drive around, as riding in the car is one of his favorite pastimes. Fueled by a strong food drive, Toro thrives on positive reinforcement and loves training sessions. He's happiest when he gets to work for his meals through fun obedience drills and trick training, which has also helped him become extremely well-mannered.

Toro's Strengths:
Social Butterfly: Toro is wonderfully socialized, having grown up in a bustling city environment. He’s unfazed by the chaos of urban life—dump trucks, motorcycles, and crowded parks are no problem for this confident pup. He’s gentle and non-aggressive, making friends easily with both humans and fellow dogs. In public spaces, he’s calm, never anxious, and always eager to please.
House-Trained and Road-Ready: Toro is both crate-trained and potty-trained, making him a well-behaved member of the household. He’s accustomed to long car rides and feels most relaxed when stretching out in his crate during trips. He has never tried to run away and stays close to his loved ones, demonstrating loyalty and trustworthiness.
Guardian Instincts: Despite his gentle demeanor, Toro knows when to be protective. He’s alert and cautious when something feels off, and he’ll sound the alarm to ensure his family’s safety. If someone unfamiliar—especially men—comes to the door, he’ll bark to let them know that this is his territory. However, a few tasty treats and a proper introduction are all it takes for Toro to warm up and make friends.
Areas for Improvement:
Toro’s protective nature at home can come across as a bit loud. While he has never shown aggression or tried to bite, he’ll bark when new men approach the house. His alertness is easily managed with food: a treat and a positive experience help him calm down within minutes. This trait might even be a plus for families who appreciate having a reliable watchdog.

Ideal Home:
Toro is an active, adventurous pup who needs regular stimulation and engagement. He’s experienced a life full of adventures—beach outings, camping, city walks, and hikes—and he will thrive in a home that continues to nurture his adventurous spirit. He isn’t suited for a lifestyle that leaves him crated or isolated for long hours. Instead, he needs a family that can commit to frequent outdoor activities and stimulating play.

A home with children or other dogs would be perfect for Toro, as he’s both gentle and protective with little ones. While he hasn’t had much exposure to cats, he’s shown no issues when spotting them outside. Toro will need a strong, consistent leader to keep his behavior in check and remind him that he isn’t the boss. As an athletic dog, he’s prone to zoomies, so discipline and regular training are essential, especially in a house with fragile furniture. His clumsiness, especially on stairs, means he needs a bit of supervision to prevent tumbles.

Fun Fact:
Toro is not only a sweetheart but also a pedigree superstar. He’s ABKC registered, with a lineage of show-worthy parents who are well-known in the bully breed world. His dad is a striking 105-pound merle, and his mom is an elegant blue tri. Toro is a little prince with a prestigious bloodline, and he’s as beautiful as he is lovable.

Warning: If you’re not a fan of drool, big hugs, or slobbery kisses, Toro might not be the dog for you. He’s full of love and won’t hold back when showing it—expect to get showered with affection daily!

Toro is ready for a family that matches his playful, loving, and adventurous energy. Are you the perfect match for this big-hearted Bully?
