My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dally is a very loving boy. He LOVES attention and loves to love. He is a happy energetic boy that is happy to be a dog!  He has been adjusting very well being in a home. He was left, tied up with no food, water or shelter. He is a tad bit shy at first but warms up quickly. He is super smart and listens well, epecially to authority. With his breed as a cattle dog/pitty mix, a strong leader is best. He does pretty well in a kennel. He cries when you leave, but settles down. He does best in an XL plastic crate. He is potty trained. He will probably have a few accidents in the first week. He takes about 3 days to adjust to new situations. He also needs to know that you are coming back for him, so once on a schedule, he can start to rely on his people coming back. Dally requires a tie out when outside. Unless you have a 6ft privacy fence. He's very agile and will jump a 4ft fence if he feels the need. He does well on a tie out though! He will also do best with an active family or person, but can settle down and nap, on or as close as possible. He loves cuddles. He is always up for adventure. He pulls a bit on a leash, but will get better with practice. He does get a little anxious in a car, but it is definately manageable. He is good with other dogs. Not sure about cats. He does have a high prey drive though. He would do very well with obediance training and any other training you would be willing to do. He picks up fast on things. Dally is a super fun dog. He likes to play with toys and chew on bones. Dally is a good boy who deserves the best!

If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please submit an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website

All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.

The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.

Additional adoption info

We want to be sure that the adoption process is as smooth and positive an experience as possible. Our animals are in foster homes and we do everything we can to learn as much about their likes and dislikes, temperament and activity level as we can while in our care. By doing so, it enables us to work more closely with a potential adopter to help ensure a "good fit." The adoption process might take a bit longer than adopting from a shelter, but our ultimate goal is finding a match that benefits not just the animal, but also the family interested in adopting.

We are looking to let our adopters chose the speed of the adoption process. To start the process, we require that an adoption application be completed. Once submitted, we will connect with you to discuss the type of animal you're looking for, your lifestyle and home environment, and what the best fit may be. At times, we may request to conduct a home visit, which can often be done in tandem with what we refer to a "meet and greet" where you have the opportunity to meet and interact with the animal(s) you're interested in adopting. Ad part of our process we conduct background check on all applicants, will check personal and vet references also. Our goal is always the proper placement for any adopted animal, which may mean that the animal you originally are interested in may turn out to not be the best fit, but we will work with you to find a better match. Adoption fees include spaying/neutering of all animals, age appropriate vaccinations ad microchipping and range anywhere from $80-$175 for cats and $200-$450 for dogs.

Prior to finalizing adoptions we require a signed Contract & Agreement which includes an understanding that if for any reason the animal does not work out that you will return them back to The Rescue Crew.

Go meet their pets

As all of our animals are in private foster homes, we do not have a facility where adoptable animals can be met. However, we do host adoption events occasional throughout the Twin Cities metro area, and those will be posted both on our website and Facebook pages.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Minnesota-based animal rescue organization which strives to prevent the unnecessary euthanasia of companion animals by finding them loving forever homes. The Rescue Crew was established specifically to fill a need in the local Twin Cities metro area to help shelter animals facing imminent risk of euthanasia without rescue support.

OUR MISSION: We are here to help save the lives of companion animals in need. Those who are homeless; the abused or abandoned; the neglected and unloved, and to show them human compassion and kindness, ultimately helping them become valued family members in a loving home.

OUR VISION: We envision the day where every adoptable animal has the opportunity of finding a responsible, loving home. A world where pets are no longer mistreated, abused or abandoned.
