Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Briscoe had us at sploot! When we went to get him from his kennel, there he was, stretched out on his bed in a perfect sploot—completely unfazed by all the barking and chaos around him. Just Briscoe, chilling and giving us a calm, curious look like, “Oh, hey there.” Once outside, he needed a few minutes for a thorough sniff inspection, and then it was all wiggles, tail wags, and kisses. Briscoe is small, but he’s got big ears and an even bigger personality to match. This little guy’s as cool as they come and ready to find his forever home to sploot in!
Came in as a stray on 10/20/24.
Found near 7800 S. Ingleside
Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL
Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information.
The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID.
All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs.
Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
