My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cash! He is a 1 year old neutered male Boxer that is mostly white with some black spots. Cash is quite the friendly, outgoing dog! He loves going on his walks, and meeting all the people that want to say hello to him. However, he is not the best trained boy- he is jumpy, can be mouthy, and pulls on the leash quite a bit. He also has some resource (food, toys) guarding behaviors that could get him into trouble without the right owners watching over him and making sure he makes good decisions, and removing the ability for him to make some of the bad ones.

Cash would heavily benefit from working with a trainer and owner that is dedicated to turning him into his best self. We are requiring the adopter of Cash to have experience with dogs that have these behaviors, and experience with the Boxer breed is a huge plus we`re looking for as well. Due to these resource guarding tendencies, he is not appropriate for a home with children (teens+ please). We are unsure if he can live with a cat or small animals, we are leaning towards no. Cash can be dog selective, so if you have a dog at home please talk to staff about their personality and we can see if they may get along.

Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process so you`re prepared to adopt & stop by the shelter with the required information to take home this pet.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

You must be 18 years or older to adopt an animal. A valid ID is required.

If you own your own home, please provide proof of home-ownership; a mortgage receipt, tax bill, water bill or deed will suffice.

If you rent, please bring your lease which states the type of pet you are interested in and that it is accepted or the name and phone of your landlord so we can verify the pet is allowed. Inquire with your landlord about any size or breed restrictions.

Please check with your home owner’s insurance company or landlord to find out if they have any restrictions on the breed(s) of dog they cover. Common breeds that may not be covered include: Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers and German Shepherds.

For the health and safety of the pet you are interested in adopting and your existing pets, we ask that you provide proof of current vaccinations and spay/neuter status for pets in your home. (We may be able to call your veterinarian if you do not have a copy available.)

A new pet is a family decision and we ask that all members of your family meet the pet and agree on the suitability for your household.

If you already have a dog(s) in your home please bring the dog(s) with you to meet the dog you are considering to see if they are compatible.

Complete an adoption application and talk with a staff member for more information about the animal you are considering.
