My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Loves, a very sweet 2-year-old Pointer mix with a heart full of love and a story of resilience. She was abandoned at a Loves gas station in Texas and survived on her own for four months before giving birth to 12 beautiful puppies. All of her puppies have found homes, and now it’s Loves' turn to find her forever family.

Here’s what makes Loves special:
--- Dog-Friendly: She’s good with dogs and enjoys their company.

--- Kid Tolerant: Loves is okay with kids but does not engage with them, though she prefers a quieter environment.

--- House & Crate Trained: She’s got her house manners down and is crate trained.

--- No Cats: Loves is not a fan of cats and would do best in a home without them.

Come meet Loves today and give this amazing girl the happy ending she’s been waiting for! 🏡❤️

Loves is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and has been on flea/tick preventatives and a deworming schedule.

Thanks to a generous donor! Loves is a part of our "Home for the Holidays" campaign. A portion of his adoption fee has already been covered putting it down to $250.

If you are interested in Loves, please fill out an application on our website and a volunteer will be in touch. https://foreverfido.org/adoptable-dogs/

Our adoption fee also covers a lot of post-adoption support, discounts on training, boarding and daycare to ensure a successful placement. Please see our adoptable dogs page for more information.

Additional adoption info

The dogs in our care will be adopted out with an updated vet exam, they will be up to date on their rabies (if of age), and DHPP. All dogs will also be microchipped and dewormed. If they are of age, they will also be altered. We do not do pediatric spays or neuters so a deposit is required at the time of adoption, once the dog is altered, the deposit will be returned.

Due to the American Veterinary Medical Association's recommendation to not spay/neuter dogs under 6 or 12 months depending on breed and our vets recommendation. Large-breed puppies under 6-months will not be altered prior to adoption but do require a deposit that will be returned once your dog is altered. Small breed and adults that are 6-months or older, will be done prior to adoption.

During the time spent at Forever Fido, all dogs will be socialized with many confident and social dogs of all ages, safely interact with kids of many ages, appropriately meet a variety of humans, start potty and crate training, and begin basic puppy manners including impulse control.

Due to the effort we put into our puppies & dogs prior to adoption, we do require all applicants to enroll in a puppy or basic obedience class with a positive reinforcement trainer. Proof of enrollment will be required before the puppy/dog will be sent home.
