We rescued Chico from Long Beach Animal Care Center in November 2023, after he was brought there as a stray and not claimed. He was adopted in January 2024, but sadly, he was recently returned due to no fault of his own. Here's a recap of what we know about this wonderful boy who is so deserving of a loving home for his remaining years.
Nearly 17 years old, Chico is still full of life, eats great, and we can put him in any play group with large or small dogs. He even passed his cat test!
Prior to his adoption, Chico went on several Frosted Flings and earned rave reviews for being wonderfully behaved, house-trained, and respectful of the cats in the homes.
In a home with small children and several other dogs and cats, Chico earned this glowing report:
"Chico is what I call "plug and play. You can literally put him in any scenario and he will fit right in and be your dog.
Chico wants his future family to know that he is the goodest boy! He's a distinguished 16 years old and easily acts half that age. His vitality is excellent! He has a mellow personality, which means he is happy to nap most of the day. He really does love going on long walks and being outside, so he respectfully requests someone who wants to enjoy the sunshine with him.
Chico sleeps through the night, and is perfectly potty trained because he is a gentleman!
He has no preference whether his new family has other pets. He gets along just great with both cats and dogs, but doesn't seem to need their company either.
Chico also wants folks to know that he doesn't discriminate based on age! Are you a family with 5 kids? No problem! Are you a single senior like him? Perfect!
So, if you are looking for a seamless new addition to your family, look no further than Chico!"
Chico is still on the lookout for his forever family. Might it be you? Stop by to meet him between 10:00AM and 3:00PM!
