My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi everyone! My name`s Posey. I’m an adult mixed breed girl with the most fun-loving personality! I`m about 30 lbs. but could lose a little weight honestly. My foster mom says I`m the easiest foster dog she`s cared for. The thing is, I have a blast entertaining myself with all the fun squeaky toys she has. I trot around the house squeaking my favorite ball, then take a break from that to chew on my favorite dehydrated beef roll, take a snooze for a while, then repeat all those fun things! My foster mom also takes me on a nice walk everyday, and I really like that too! She plays fetch with me in the backyard. You should see me go after that squeaky ball! And you wanna know one of my absolute favorite things of all? Yep, you guessed it! Cuddling! Seriously, if I can snuggle up to you and have you gently caress me, I think I`m in doggy heaven. I`m a nudger if you try to stop, so it`s best you just keep at it! I love it so much, I concentrate when you`re doing it as if I`m paying attention to every little ounce of love you`re sharing with me. Let me just say this...if you don`t enjoy your best friend cuddling with you, I`m probably not the girl for you. I wanna be your most loyal friend, and I want you to adore that about me! Speaking of cuddling, I`m laying all cuddled up in my foster mom`s lap as she types my bio. Just snoozing away like the princess I am. I feel like I won the lottery being saved and brought to this cozy, loving home. I mean, if a foster home feels this good, I can only imagine how great a forever home will feel!

Hey, guess what!? She gets along with dogs of all sizes. In her foster home she does not play together with the other dogs, but we coexist beautifully together and really enjoy taking our walks together too. I surely wouldn`t mind a doggy sibling in my forever home, but I`m also open to being an only pet if you promise to give me loads of love and attention!

Wanna know some other great things about me? Well, for starters, I`m potty trained. Yay, right!? I`ve had a couple random potty accidents, but my foster mom thinks it`s because I`m transitioning to a new life. She let`s me outside often for potty breaks, and I get right down to business because I know that`s what I`m supposed to do!

Here`s another thing, I`m also crate trained! I don`t mind a crate one bit honestly. I don`t make a peep in there. If my foster mom leaves for a short while, I just cozy right up and take a nap in there. She`s left me out of m

More about this rescue

We are in need of Foster Homes for our homeless animals!!! Can you help?

What is a Foster Home?
A foster home takes in one of our homeless animals rather than boarding them at the kennel and cares for it until we find a permanent loving home. Almost Home Foundation pays for the all animal's food and medical expenses. The foster home learns the animal's temperament and behaviors. The foster home learns if they get along with other animals. The foster home provides insights on the animals that helps Almost Home Foundation look for the right home for the animal.

Please help!! Just fill out this form and we will contact you or call 630-582-3738 and leave a message letting us know that you are interested in fostering!

We are an all-volunteer, registered, not-for-profit 501c3 animal rescue group. Our mission is to save adoptable dogs and cats from being destroyed by finding permanent, loving homes. For details, visit us online at www.almosthomefoundation.org.

Almost Home Foundation is always looking for volunteers to handle dogs at adoption shows, set up adoption shows, write for the newsletter, photograph events, or foster animals. For a list of opportunities, visit online at www.volunteermatch.org
or www.almosthomefoundation.org.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are a Rescue not a Shelter. This simply means we do not own a building where we house animals. We look for loving foster homes that will give temporary care and love on the animal’s journey to a permanent, loving home. When a foster home is not available, we will board the animal at a boarding kennel.

Our 5-year goal is to have a shelter. This is an aggressive goal that will take many donations and memberships. We will strive for this goal with a great team of volunteers and help from people like you! Please become a member, become a sponsor or make a donation.

Our animals are found strayed and brought in from the police. After being held for 7 days, we evaluate the temperament of the animal and determine if the animal is suitable to be a pet. On rare occasion, we will also rescue animals that are in desperate situations where the rescue makes the difference between life and death. We do not accept Owner Give-ups.
