We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Casobi, 3.5 years old, neutered male, Shepherd/Retriever mix, 72 pounds. He is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved.
This super friendly guy came into our rescue after being pulled from a rural shelter in Texas. He is a total lovebug and loves to stay close to his humans.
Casobi has met a lot of different dogs and is currently in a foster home with 2 other dogs (45 and 65 pounds). He loves to play and would make a great friend for another dog enjoys some playtime. He is NOT on the go all the time, he enjoys some play and then quiets down. He has gone to boarding when his foster is out of town and is in larger play groups. Boarding tells us he is a fan favorite!
He shares a home with kids who are 8-10 years old. He has spent time with kids under 5 years old and does wonderful. He is great with kids! He also spent time around a cat and had no reactions.
Casobi is both crate and potty trained. Overall he walks well on a leash with some pulling to sniff things or out of excitement. He is low-moderate energy. We say lower because he is not on the go all the time, but has the stamina to go on walks, hikes, trails etc if that was your lifestyle. He has regular spurts of energy and then settles down.
His favorite pastime is following his foster mom wherever she goes- you want to take a shower, cool I'll hang out by the door. You want to read a book, great I'll sit on your feet. He is such a lover and is very affectionate. He is not destructive, he is scared of thunder and wants to hide behind you, no issues with food and other dogs or people.
We really can't say enough great things about this guy. We know he's on the larger side, which means he has that much more to hug you with! We really hope you will consider being his forever family!
