My late father recently passed away not quite two weeks ago. He left behind an American Shorthair Calico cat named Dolly. Dolly is 11 years-old and is beautiful (please see pictures) with bright green eyes. She is friendly, interactive, is a bit shy, but has always been pampered by him. She has been an "only cat" but I am certain she could adjust to other kitty's given time.
My siblings and I are not in a position to take her in. I have tried every avenue I know about to try to directly rehome her but, apparently, many folks are not interested in adopting her as she is "special needs." In full disclosure, Dolly has hyperthyroidism, but has had two recent veterinary visits (I have complete records on her) and I have been told that her condition is "stable" and does not require special treatment at her age. Her shots are up to date and her nails are clipped. She is eating, drinking, and using her litter box fine and her weight is stable around five pounds.
