Meet Miller! This handsome boy was found as a stray in Philly when he was brought to the shelter. His finder described him as "friendly cuddly playful, super loving dog"! Since getting to the shelter we've seen that Miller is a high energy boy who is pretty stressed in the shelter. We'd love to see him leave quickly to a forever home! Could that be you?
Miller is available for adoption at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm!
Behavior:
Per Volunteer 11/8/24:
Miller took some treats from me when I approached his kennel and was wiggly and easy to leash. Miller seems to be house trained, did a lot of marking outside. Did a fence meet with another dog and Miller was stiff and had a high tail, wagging fast. He then began to growl and lunge towards the dog, and it's possible he is barrier reactive. We did not try a face meet. He was easy to redirect and when we had to walk by the dog later, he didn't pay any mind if we did not get close to him. In the dog run, he mostly did his own thing and sniffed around. Towards the end of our interaction, he did become overstimulated and tried to mount me a few times, latching onto my legs, I brought him back to his kennel.
Per Staff 11/6/24:
BEHAVIOR EVALUATION:
KNOWN HISTORY:
Stray
KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Miller was standing at the front of kennel with soft eyes and mid level wags. Did an excited spin and allowed for very easy leashing. No issues exiting or returning
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls moderately
HANDLING:
In the yard Miller explored and then came over to us wagging and solicited attention. He allowed all handling without issue, but would get aroused quickly in the yard and begin to mount. He never escalated with mounting and allowed the handler to pull him off without issue but was very persistent.

TOYS:
No interest
COLOR LEVEL & ANY RECOMMENDATIONS:
