My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's a me, Mario! Wahoo, Let's a Go! I'm a friendly guy that just wants to bring joy into your life. Yes, I'm really just a big softie. I love spending time with humans, and I've lived successfully with other dogs before. I'm a smart boy and a quick learner. I'm completely housebroken, and I know "sit" and take treats very gently. I also walk well on a leash and love to entertain myself by playing with a bouncy ball - it's my absolute favorite. I'm excited to learn new things and have fun times with my fur-ever family. If you're looking for a good-looking good boy, I'm your guy!

A team member notes: "What a handsome guy. His soulful eyes and inquisitive facial expressions could charm just about anyone."

Another team member says, "Mario is very friendly and always excited to see you. He was great on leash during our walk, and he's a good listener. We went into one of the dog runs, and he LOVED playing with a ball in there. He's good at fetching and will let you take the ball from him, but he also liked to bat the ball around himself and chase it. He was having so much fun with it, and his zoomies and pawing at the toy were super cute."

Another team member adds, "Mario is the total package - he's handsome, smart and loves to hang out with you. I think he was a soccer player in a past life - his favorite thing to do is go to the park and swat a bouncy ball around. He looks like a soccer player moving the ball up the field ... and by 'moving it up the field' I mean doing ridiculously cute bounces around the park while kicking the ball toward you so you can throw it again. Once he's tired himself out, he'll flop onto his back with the ball in his mouth, giving himself some back scratches, and he's a fan of you coming over to give him some belly pets at the same time, too."

Five Fun Facts:
Favorite Treat: Likes all different kinds of treats, especially cheese!
Favorite Toy: He loves the ball and will disregard all other toys for it
Favorite Activity: Likes back + belly scratches, loves when you throw the ball but it's not guaranteed he'll bring it back to you - he may just play fetch with himself :)
Tricks that he knows: Sit. He's a smart boy and very treat motivated, so if you want to teach him more tricks, we're confident he'll pick them up quickly.
Something you should know: He may seem like he has a lot of energy in his kennel, but it's just excitement. Once he's out of his kennel, he's a calm guy who is easy to walk and just wants to play and hang out.
