My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a energetic goofy girl that also loves to curl up with people she knows? Well look no further as Regina is here! This sweet girl is still learning about the world around her and may need some time before she completely warms up to new people and environments, however once she is comfortable she can become a big cuddle bug. She would love to find a home that is able to show her the world around her is full of fun and joy. If Regina sound like the pur-fect fit for you, apply today!

~ Regina is looking for an active home to take her on lots of adventures
~ Regina would do best in a home of adults or adults with older children as she can be nervous in new environments and with new people
~ While in our care we have noticed that Regina shows the possibility of having resource guarding with her food
~ She would need to be signed up for training prior to going into her fur-ever home to ensure she works on her socialization and learning her big girl manners

Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed:
- High Energy
- Under-Socialized
- Jumpy / Mouthy
- Resource Guarding
- Nervous / Shy
- Little to no training

Explanation of Behaviours:
- Regina is under-socialized; her new family will need to slowly and positively work on socializing her to the world around her.
- Regina is a young and high-energy dog that will need plenty of daily exercise, enrichment and training to set her up for success.
- Regina can be fearful/nervous of new people especially in new situations/environments. Her new family will need to work with her to slowly and properly help her feel more comfortable and confident with new things and introductions.
- Regina has shown to have some possible resource guarding while in our care specifically with her food

This dog would benefit from:
- An active home
- A home consisting of all adults or with adults and older children
- Lots of training
- Lots of time and attention
- Lots of socialization

Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog:
- Basic training
- Basic manners - Self control, Jumping up and mouthing
- Socialization - including working on nervousness in new environments and situations
- Resource Guarding

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
