My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello, I'm Klaus! I'm a mature chap with a heart full of love. I may be a bit shy at first, but give me a moment and I'll be purring in your lap. I'm independent and can entertain myself, but I also adore cuddles and playtime. I'm energetic and brave, always ready for a new adventure. I'm sweet and friendly, a gentle soul who's eager to make friends. I promise to fill your life with warmth and joy. Why should you adopt me? Because I'm Klaus, and I'm ready to be your forever friend.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
