My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Puff Pastry is a charming little Beagle mix with a buttery soft coat, a signature pink nose, and ears that fold just so, as if they've been delicately shaped by a master pastry chef. Puff Pastry is just as irresistible as his name suggests and is delightfully layered. Beneath his calm and gentle exterior, he's full of curiosity and a bit of a playful spirit that comes out when he feels at home. Whether he's sniffing out new scents on a walk or curling up beside you, he's happiest when he's by your side, ready to be your loyal, sweet companion. What's more, his soulful eyes and endearing head tilts are a recipe for happiness, and his love is one hundred percent authentic-no sogginess here! This little baker is hoping to find a forever home where he can be a cherished member of the family, bringing as much joy and warmth to your life as a freshly baked croissant.

Here's some notes from his foster:

Puff Pastry is staying with us as a foster, and he's been such a joy to have around. He's a sweet, gentle dog with a curious streak and just enough playful energy to keep life interesting. He runs up and stairs all day long in our house now, and walks to Bernal Hill using stairs too. Outside, he loves to stretch his legs-whether it's a walk, a little jog, or exploring off-leash. On leash, he's always on the lookout for the next interesting scent. He'll zigzag left and right, letting his nose lead him to every new discovery, which makes even a simple walk feel like an adventure.

At home, he's often close by, ready to lie next to us on the couch or settle in nearby. But he's no couch potato; Puff Pastry is curious and often gets up to check out what's happening around the house, following us from room to room or sniffing around to satisfy his curiosity. He seems eager to be part of whatever's going on, and it's endearing to have such a loyal little shadow.

One of the best surprises has been how well he gets along with our own dog. After only a few days, it already feels like they're brothers, with an easygoing, natural bond that has brought even more warmth and joy to our home.

Puff Pastry came from a caring home that, sadly, couldn't keep him due to some tough life changes. You can tell he was loved; he's affectionate, polite, and gets along well with everyone, dogs and people alike. We don't know how he'd do with cats or small children, but so far, his friendly nature has made him a friend to everyone he meets.

One thing that stands out is his love of food-he's always ready for a treat, and it makes him a quick learner. He's happiest when he has a routine with some daily exercise and a good balance on treats, especially as he's working on staying fit.

Having Puff Pastry as part of our family has been a wonderful experience. His curious, eager presence and his newfound bond with our dog add a special energy to our home, making it feel like he's always been here.
