My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hi there!  My name is Jacques, but you can call me Jack, Jax, or just about anything you want, if you take me home with you!  I’m a 1 ½ year old pittie who is both energetic and snuggly.  I love my humans and meeting new people. I’m friendly with both adults and children, but sometimes take a little time to warm up to other dogs. That could be because I was on my own on the streets for a while, and just need to take my time getting to know other dogs.  But once I do, I love to romp and play with them! I’m crate trained, and go in when my humans aren’t home, and at night.  Of course, I’d prefer to sleep in bed with you (remember the snuggly?)  I also eat my meals in my crate, so it’s like a hotel with room service!  I’m also good at learning, and know commands like “sit,” and “down.”  I’m also working on my leash manners, so we can take long walks in the park together.   I’d love to find a home with another dog to help me burn off my energy, but if you’re an active home who likes to play, I’m cool with that too.  I love my humans, after all. I have super soft fur, so when it’s snuggle time, I love getting pet, and will always love you! Apply @buffalocares.org, if I sound like the perfect match!

The Adoption process:
*Submit your online adoption application
* If you already have pets in your home, they must be up to date on their vaccinations.
*Once the reference & vet checks are complete and approved, we will be in contact to schedule a home visit and/or meet & greet with the animal you are interested in. All members of the family including any current pets must be present.
*Based on your references, home visit and meet & greet, we will approve or deny your application to adopt or recommend a different animal who may be a better fit for your home.
*If approved, we will set up a date for you to adopt your new companion animal. If an animal is not yet spayed/neutered, we will set up your adoption for a time after they have been altered. We will not adopt out any animal until they have been spayed/neutered unless the animal is determined, by our veterinarian, unable to be spayed/neutered due to a medical condition or that it would be a danger to their well being.
