My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miss KitKat is a beautiful unique kitty with the softest fur and most beautiful colors! She was found dumped in a church parking lot. She is shy at first and will need a new home that is willing to give her space to get comfortable and learn to trust her new humans. Once she is comfortable she loves being with her humans and loves attention! She sleeps cuddled up with her fosters and loves to be close to them! She is not a fan of being picked up though, so cuddles and loves need to be on her terms. She loves toys and the fishing pole and has a very silly playful side too. A home with someone who works from home or is not gone a lot would be ideal as KitKat gets lonely when her humans are away. She would do best with older children. She is easily intimidated by more dominant cats, so a home where she is the only pet would be best. She really wants to be the sole focus of your attention! Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
