Meet Bear! (Would love to be adopted with Raven 🐦‍⬛)

Bear was adopted back in August 2023. His adopter felt he needed another dog to play with in the home and a fence and we completely agree now that we have him here at the rescue and see his personality.

Then, we thought we found the perfect home for him around May of 2024 with his BFF Raven, unfortunately the adopter is not able to keep either of them due to housing issues. This poor guy (and Raven) deserve a home that won’t let them go. They have had too much of the crappy and they need some happy already!!

Bear is around 3 years old and slightly overweight around at 95 pounds. He is great with just about anyone and anything! He is a very happy-go-lucky, fun boy and obviously LOVES food!

If you like laying on a couch watching movies, playing tug, going for car rides, or even hiking, this may be the boy for you! He is house/crate trained, but as always expect a few accidents in the beginning.

Bear is neutered, current on all shots (including a 3 year rabies shot), heartworm tested negative, and on heartworm prevention. He MUST be kept on heartworm prevention all of his life! NO EXCEPTIONS!

Bears adoption fee is $125 and if you adopt his friend Raven, she will not have any extra fees. All vet records and will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption.

The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available. We do keep our website and Petfinder updated regularly.

Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply.

FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a small home-based sanctuary and rescue for dogs (primarily) near the Chattanooga, TN area. All pets that come here, are fully vetted before being placed into loving homes. We do NOT have a public shelter. To meet our pets, you must have an approved application on file and we will bring them to your home, or meet in 1 of our few meeting spaces.

More about this rescue

Established in 2011, FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a privately run rescue.

All of our sanctuary/rescue pets have come from situations such as being on death row at shelters, owners who can no longer keep them, or even rescued from heartbreaking situations.

Each rescued pet is kept in foster homes until a FURever home is found. If no home can be found, they become a sanctuary pet. Every pet is spayed/neutered (if of age), current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and dogs are heartworm tested, (if the dog is over 6 months) prior to adoption.

The adoption process requires an adoption application. If the application looks good, we will contact your veterinarian for a reference (if applicable). If that checks out, we will schedule a home check (for the safety of our rescues). If local, we will come to your home. If you are not local, we will need several pictures and/or a video of your home/yard to complete the home check. Finally, if approved, you will fill out an adoption contract and pay the pets set adoption fee (which varies).

FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue has adopted out hundreds of animals since we began. We have a professional working relationship as a rescue with many other area rescues, vets, shelters and spay/neuter clinics in the area.
