My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Periwinkle is a 3-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on August 4, 2024 along with her four 8-week old kittens (Bobble, Rosetta, Silvermist, and Vidia). Periwinkle had been raising her babies in the vicinity of an apartment complex in the Marietta/Reno Ohio area.

Periwinkle has a gray short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with golden eyes, a gray velvet nose, and long gray whiskers.

Periwinkle was separated from her kittens shortly after she arrived since they were fully weaned. This little momma was a very frightened kitty, and our compassionate HSOV kennel techs have been doing their best to help her realize that she is among her new best friends who love her unconditionally.

Periwinkle has a friendly disposition, but she is extremely shy. Periwinkle is currently in The Jungle Room (one of our main cat adoption rooms) where she has the 'freedom' of a double-wide cage rather than a small more isolated one.

These photos were taken during the month of October 2024, and we admit they aren't the most flattering pictures of this beautiful girl since they were taken through the bars of her cage .. Only because Periwinkle tends to quickly run through the portal to the adjacent cage when she hears the 'click' of the cage door being opened.

Periwinkle was given vaccinations on October 17, 2024 and was given booster vaccines on October 31, 2024.

Periwinkle was spayed on September 17, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 7 lbs that day.

We believe that Periwinkle may be older than the 3-years old which was estimated when she first came to HSOV since she is missing several teeth.

Periwinkle is now available for adoption and is looking for a compassionate experienced individual (or family) who would have the patience and understanding to let her acclimate to her new home on her own terms and time schedule .. realizing that she may hide for awhile until she trusts that she is in a safe place. She has not had an easy/good life and has likely never had anyone to love her and felt the kindness of her people friends. Periwinkle is merely a frightened little kitty who needs a quiet, loving home.
