My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Canela, but my foster mom calls me her Adventure Girl. When me and my brothers were smaller, I was the bravest one and the first one to try out the new things, climb up things, do daredevil jumps and do general exploring. I love to run and play and tackle my brothers. There are 2 older kitties (well, they were bitties also, only 8 months old now) and a wild and crazy pup (6 months old) in the house and I don't mind any of them. My foster mom is pretty careful about the pup, but sometimes he likes to give me a big sloppy kiss and I don't even mind. The older kitties want to come play with me and I like to play with them even though they are bigger and a little rougher (mom makes sure we are safe). My mom also calls me her little Kitty Motor - I am almost always purring. If you sit on the floor, I like to climb on you. Maybe your family would like to be my next adventure!

Kittens need buddies! We require that kittens be adopted with a sibling or go to a home that already has another young companion animal. If you already have a young animal or another kitten in your home, great! If not, Canela will need to be adopted with one of their siblings (Turmeric and Curry).

The adoption fee for a kitten is $250. For a pair, the adoption fee is $500.

Note: Kittens must be 10+ weeks old before they can go home.

Additional adoption info

If you’re thinking about adding a kitten or two to your family, a Bitty Kitty is a great choice! Kittens who have been bottlefed tend to be extra friendly and snuggly!

By adopting a kitten from the Bitty Kitty Brigade, you’ll be supporting our no-kill organization and making room for us to take in another orphan kitten.

All of our cats receive high-quality veterinary care and exams. Prior to adoption, all of our kittens are:

FeLV/FIV tested
spayed/neutered
treated for external and internal parasites
microchipped
FVRCP (distemper) vaccinated

Please allow 24-48 hours for a reply to an adoption inquiry.

More about this rescue

The Bitty Kitty Brigade is a foster-based rescue for orphaned neonatal kittens in the Twin Cities, MN and surrounding areas.

Our mission is:
To provide care for orphaned neonatal kittens and to partner with animal rescue organizations and impound facilities to improve survival rates within the neonatal kitten population.

The Bitty Kitty Brigade provides care for kittens ages 0-6 weeks who are without mothers and not yet eating on their own. Once weaned, the kittens are either transferred to one of our partner no-kill organizations or transferred to another caregiver within our organization where they will be cared for until adoption age.
