We would love to welcome Curly into the Fetch + Releash family November 17th (subject to change). In order for Curly to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take him home on his arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found.
Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions.
Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care.
During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit.
Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies.

Curly / Male / 7 months / 57 pounds / Mixed Breed / Happy Go Lucky Pup / Great Family Dog / From Tennessee
Meet Curly, a playful and confident pup who’s ready to find a forever family to call his own.
Curly came into our care as a tiny new born, rescued alongside his siblings and mom who were found dumped in a field. Now, he's grown into a happy, fun-loving puppy full of energy and curiosity. He's the largest of his siblings and loves to play, both with other dogs and his human friends—he’s even great with kids! Though his breed is unknown, his mom was likely part Boxer, which gives him a strong, sturdy build.
Curly is eager to learn and ready for some training. As he’s lived most of his young life outdoors, he'll need help with potty training and getting comfortable on a leash. But with his eagerness to please, he’s sure to catch on quickly. A structured routine, crate training, and lots of play-based learning will help him thrive in his new home.
Curly is great with other dogs, though his playful energy might be a bit much for quieter pups. He’d love a dog sibling who can keep up with him, but he’ll also do well in a home on his own. Ensuring Curly is mentally and physically stimulated will help keep this curious pup out of mischief. He has been around dog-savvy kids (ages 8+) and would make a wonderful family dog, though older children are best due to his size and excitement.
Curly is a blank slate, ready to bond with his new family and be a part of all your adventures. If you're looking for a playful, loyal companion, Curly might just be the perfect fit!
As a condition of the adoption contract, Curly's new family will be required to attend and complete a basic obedience class at their own cost (proof required).
If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form
Curly's adoption fee is $900. To learn more about our adoption fees and the foster-to-adopt process, please visit our FAQs at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/about-us#about-faqs.

More about this rescue
Established in 2016, Fetch + Releash is a volunteer run dog rescue dedicated to saving dogs in need. Our foster dogs come from a variety of different backgrounds such as shelters, strays and surrendered pets, both locally and abroad. Through our network of volunteers, foster homes, trainers and veterinarians, we strive to give every dog the loving forever family they deserve. As a foster-based rescue, our dogs live in private homes across the Greater Toronto Area where they receive the love and attention they need to ready them for adoption.
A dog is a lifetime commitment and not to be discarded due to health, lifestyle change or inconvenience. Some of the top reasons dogs end up in shelters are lack of training, lifestyle changes (i.e. new baby, marriage), relocation, cost of dog ownership, not enough time for pet etc. Our goal is to ensure our adoptive families are well versed in the realities of dog ownership and ready to make a lifetime commitment.
