My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**THIS DOG IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AT THE SHELTER.* If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet

Denver is a funny looking little guy with a sweet temperament. He can be shy at first and would do best with older, savvy children who can respect space if needed. Denver weighs 21 pounds.

Denver enjoyed Wandering Rovers today, they said: Denver enjoyed long walks car rides new smells and cuddling with the people that he was with. He did a great job at the Everett Marina eating and greeting other people as well. He is high energy but friendly and did a good job of checking in with us during the walk during the car ride, he was a lap dog and a cuddler, during our time, we didn’t hear any barking which isn’t a given for a Chihuahua mix
We did not encounter anything that seemed to be a problem for him
we were impressed on how high he could jump and were amazed at the number of times he tried to mark something though he was very polite about it each time.

Another Rover reported: Denver was the sweetest boy! He enjoyed our walk around the lake and wanted to say hi to everyone we passed by. He didn`t bark the entire time he was with us and just seemed happy to be out exploring. He did well at the cafe and did not beg for food, just sat by the table and people watched. He also enjoyed cuddles and just hanging out on our laps. He did great in the car.

Another Rover said: Denver is very sweet, lovable, and playful. He did well in the car and seemed to like meeting new people at stores. We really enjoyed our time with him!

ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT

Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.

How does this work?

First, check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, visit our website (www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet) to complete an online adoption application.

Our staff will review your application and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that we receive many applications, and it may take up to a week before you are contacted.

Adoption appointments are set up using strict social distancing protocols, and many transactions are processed ‘curbside’ outdoors. Our staff will go over appointment details when they speak with you.

Renters bring rental pet policy at time of adoption. Not having the rental pet policy available may delay or nullify an adoption.

Animals are usually able to go home right away, so be prepared for your new pet to leave with you.
