Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Hey, Future Fam! Lena here! 🐾
I'm Lena, a 2.5-year-old, 55-pound Great Pyrenees mix, and let me tell you—I am READY for the high life! After being a mom, I’m hanging up my “responsible adult” hat and looking to enjoy the finer things in life, which, if you’re curious, mostly include treats, naps, and a solid spot on the couch.
I came to my rescue after being found wandering around as a stray, which was quite the adventure—though not the kind I’d prefer! I was spotted in the same area where my puppies (at least we believe they are)—Reef, Spinner, and Tiger—were found before ending up in the shelter. It’s a little sad, really. We suspect I may have been dumped just like they were, but I’m putting that behind me. Now, I’m ready for my next chapter: finding a family who’ll give me the high life I deserve! I may have had a rocky start, but my spirit is strong, and I’m all about love, cuddles, and those delicious snacks we talked about.
They say I'm the perfect size, and honestly, I agree. Not too big, not too small—just right for sneaking into laps (don’t argue, just let it happen) or making a subtle play for your spot in bed. And speaking of sleep, I’m flexible! I’m all about the cuddles at night, but if I decide to go “solo snooze” at the foot of the bed or in my crate, don’t take it personally. I just like to keep my options open. Let’s talk food. I’m a gal who knows what she wants, and if there’s a snack in reach, it’s probably meant for me. Counter-surfing? Oh, you bet. Some call it a “nuisance,” I call it “opportunistic dining.” This might be the Pyr side of me coming out—I'm just very motivated to make sure nothing goes to waste! So, heads up: if you leave a sandwich unattended, I’ll happily assume you’re sharing.
Now, as a Pyr mix, I do come with a few “special features.” Like my breed brethren, I have what you might call “selective hearing.” Oh, I hear you, alright. I can detect the faintest treat bag rustle from three rooms away. But when it’s time to come inside? Well, let’s just say I’m often “busy” contemplating life or counting clouds in the sky. “Come” and “sit” may be suggestions to me, but food is my true north. The Shedding Life Chose Me. Have you ever wanted to wear fur all year round? Good news! I shed enough to cover your clothes, your furniture, and possibly your entire household. Consider me a pro-floof decorator—any outfit can use a little white fuzz, right?
Alright, let’s talk about my future digs! If you’ve got other dogs, no worries—I’m a pretty flexible gal. Big, small, or anything in between, I can roll with them all. I’m a social butterfly with a fluffy tail, and I like to think of myself as a “friend to all,” but if I happen to be your one and only, that’s totally fine too! I’m equally comfortable as the solo star of the show, basking in all your attention. As for cats? Meh, they don’t ruffle my fur. They do their thing, I do mine, and peace reigns supreme. So, if you’ve got a feline friend, I can promise you no drama from me! Now, kids? I haven’t met any yet, but I’ve got a pretty mellow, gentle vibe, so I’m thinking we’d get along just fine. I promise to be on my best Pyr behavior (just don’t leave any PB&J sandwiches unattended!).
When it comes to car rides, I’m a total pro—as long as you’re okay with giving me a little boost up into the car (a lady shouldn’t have to climb, am I right?). Once I’m in, I’m all about chill vibes; I lie down, zone out, and we’re off on a smooth, drama-free journey. Now, as for public outings, I’m open to a little social time! If you want to take me along to a pet store, café, or even on a visit to a friend’s house, I’m all for it—especially if there are treats or pets involved. I’ll be cool and polite, and if you’re more of a homebody, I’m just as happy staying in with you, maybe enjoying a Netflix marathon or just taking in the sights from a cozy spot by the window. Leash-walking is still a bit of a “future goals” situation. I haven’t had much leash experience yet, so I’ll need a little practice before we strut down Main Street like pros. And meeting new people? I like to keep things classy and reserved at first; I’m not one to rush in all “paws and kisses.” Give me a moment to size things up, and once I know we’re cool, I’ll warm right up. So whether we’re hitting the town or just keeping things low-key at home, I’m flexible as long as I’m with you.
I’d say my vibe is pretty balanced: I’m calm, cool, and collected, with a dash of silly thrown in here and there. When it comes to playtime, I’m all about that friendly wrestling match with other pups…for a little while. After that, I’m ready to call it a day and relax. I’m not one of those “go, go, go” types—I’m more of a “nap, snack, then maybe play for a bit” kind of girl. Oh, and fetch? Yeah, I don’t get the hype. You throw the ball, and I’m just supposed to bring it back? Seems a little pointless if you ask me. I’d rather just watch you throw it and let you figure out why I’m not running after it! I’m actually pretty well-mannered (a bit of a surprise for a Pyr, huh?), so if you’re into taking me out to meet some folks at places like retirement homes or schools, I’d be up for that! I’ve got a soft, snuggly side that makes me a great candidate for cozy visits with gentle pets and calm vibes. So, in summary? I’m the perfect mix of laid-back with a sprinkle of playfulness, occasional zoomies, and an excellent couch buddy. Let’s just say I’m your all-around gal pal, equally ready for belly rubs, low-key strolls, or just hanging out together!
Alright, here’s the inside scoop on my “at-home” habits. Could I live in an apartment? It’s a solid “maybe.” Indoors, I’m as quiet as a mouse, but the second I step outside, my Pyr instincts kick in, and I get to barking…a lot. Don’t worry, though—it’s all part of my dedication to keeping the yard “safe” from any leaf, squirrel, or mysterious breeze that dares to enter my turf. So, apartment living could work if you've got a good sense of humor and tolerant neighbors (or maybe some good soundproofing)! Potty training? Yep, you betcha I got that down! When it comes to the couch, oh yes, I absolutely love it! If you’re looking for a couch buddy to watch TV with, I’m all in, paws up and ready for prime-time snuggles. And I’m proud to say I don’t chew on random things or dig holes in the yard, so your shoes and flower beds are safe with me. And can I roam free in the house? Absolutely! I’m trustworthy and pretty well-behaved, so you can rest easy knowing I’ll be a good housemate while you’re off doing your thing.
Listen up, potential adopters! I’m not here for a “until something happens” kind of deal—I’m looking for my forever home! You see, I’m all in for the long haul, and I’m hoping you are too! You know those common excuses people throw around when they have to return a pup? “Oh, I can’t keep her because I’m moving,” or “She’s just too big for our apartment,” or the classic “I don’t have time for her anymore”? So, if you’re ready to welcome me into your life, just know I’m all about loyalty and love for the long haul. I want to be your sidekick through all of life’s adventures, not just a temporary addition. If you’re looking for a true companion who will be by your side through it all, I’m your girl! Let’s make this forever, shall we? 🐾❤️
