What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
As soon as we met Sunny we fell in love. His parents -- a Chihuahua/Terrier mix and an Australian Shepherd/Terrier hybrid -- gave birth to a litter of 5, a few doors down from us. We adopted him, and his litter mate Remy, as 3-month-old puppies. Born on Valentine's Day, they lived with their parents until we brought them home
Unknowingly, we bit off more than we could chew with two pups. We would love to keep him, but the rhythm of our lives -- travel for work & family, 3 kids, and demanding jobs -- can't withstand the sweet needs of two adorable puppies.
Sunny is playful, sweet, rambunctious, and food-incentivized. He is crate- and potty trained. Though good with dogs, he requires more socialization. He is about the size of a house cat, and timid of big dogs, but with gentle cajoling he eases into connecting with other canines.
We would love to re-home him in Berkeley, El Cerrito or Kensington, and ideally stay in touch since he and his brother are best mates.
