This crazy kitten has quite the story. *Full disclosure, she does have FeLV (feline leukemia) and is in a holding period before her next test in Dec. 2024 to see how/if the disease is progressing.* At only 4 weeks old, she was surrendered to a local veterinary clinic as she was on the brink of death from fleas. She needed a blood transfusion to survive. Femora had a catheter placed in her femur bone because she was too small for an IV in her vein. She not only had this crazy procedure done, but then received a blood transfusion from a dog! We were all so impressed that she made it. She overcame her first hurdle and then was diagnosed with ringworm. It was a long summer of baths, topical sprays, and oral medication to clear the annoying fungus. Femora loved her foster mom so much that she gave her ringworm! When her hair started to grow back and she didn’t look like a bald pear, she got really sick with a fever and wasn’t wanting to eat. At this time she was diagnosed with FeLV. Our knowledge of this disease is always growing and complicated to explain. We do recommend considering adoption of Femora if you have no other cats or have other cats who are FeLV positive. Femora is a crazy kitten who loves to sprint around and play. She loves her circular cardboard scratcher! When picked up she starts purring, but immediately wants to play and will even attack your hands. She is sassy and sweet all rolled into one!
