My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Lucia! My days are full of boundless energy and playfulness. I love playing with toys, running around, and of course, cuddling! Nothing beats a good snuggle session. I'm a friendly soul, always ready to greet everyone with a wagging tail and a happy bark. Life in the shelter is okay, but I dream of a home where I can share my love and energy with my very own family. I promise to fill your life with joy, laughter, and endless tail wags. Will you be my forever friend? Adopting me means gaining a loyal companion who will love you unconditionally.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
