My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My adoption fee is reduced! From now until December 31st, my new family can take me home for $25!

Meet Octavia! Octavia came into rescue with her 8 kittens when they were just a week or two old. She was such a fantastic momma, raising all 8 babies and now she is ready to be done with the mom life and live as a pampered pet, the way she deserves!

Octavia is about 2 years old. She was found as a stray, so her exact age is unknown. She was very skinny when she came to rescue, likely because she was too busy taking care of her babies to take care of herself! Octavia is unbelievably sweet to humans - she loves adults and kids alike! She can be a protective of her babies around other animals, but when she is on her own with other animals, she has done just fine.

Octavia is litter box trained and has not had any issue scratching inappropriately in her foster home. She does enjoy a good scratching post and hopes that her forever family will make sure that she has access to one!

Sweet Octavia deserves the good life! If you'd like to make her part of your family, apply today! Her adoption fee is $75.

The adoption fee for adult cats is $75. All of our cats come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, combo tested, microchipped, up to date on flea and tick preventative, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

More about this rescue

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., non-profit and no kill, aims to alleviate the suffering of abandoned shelter animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming them within our community.

We are proudly foster-based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
