My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Megalodon, a 5-month-old, 5lb kitten! This sweet girl arrived in rescue a shy and scared ball of fluff and has since blossomed into a social butterfly! Meg loves to play with the other kittens in her foster home, and especially loves people. She enjoys sitting on her foster mom's shoulders and being petted - she's a purring machine! While she is not fostered with tiny humans, she is suspected to do well with them due to how much she loves people. Meg is not fostered with dogs but would likely do well with a cat savvy dog. She does great with other cats once given time to adjust to her new feline friends. Meg is the first to greet her foster mom at the door, asking for attention and making sure the food bowl is refilled! She loves wet food and eating treats. If you're looking for a sweet orange tabby to join your family, apply online today!

Kittens are only adopted in pairs or to homes with other friendly, social cats. They are very social by nature and need to be with other cats for their socialization.

The adoption fee for a single kitten is $75, a pair of kittens is $100

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, combo tested, microchipped, up to date on flea and tick preventative, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

More about this rescue

Louie’s Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., non-profit and no kill, aims to alleviate the suffering of abandoned shelter animals by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming them within our community.

We are proudly foster-based, meaning our animals live in homes, not shelters. This differentiates us and allows us to more thoroughly get to know our animals, ensuring they are matched with suitable, screened adoptive homes which meet our high standards.

As part of our commitment to the health and well-being of all of our animals and to reduce pet overpopulation in our community, every pet is spayed or neutered prior to adoption.

We are committed to ensuring the safety of our animals for their entire lifetimes so that they will never suffer abuse, neglect or abandonment again.
