My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Meet the Beautiful Pennywise!***

Penny recently went on a weekend getaway where her weekend foster learned some very valuable things about this sweet little lady. Here is what she had to say"

"Penny is a beautiful and unique Plott Hound mix awaiting her forever home. With her striking red brindle spots, Penny is sure to turn heads wherever she goes. This girl is so sweet, affectionate, and friendly with everyone she meets. She's a professional cuddler and loves nothing more than to fall asleep on the couch with her head in your lap, or curl up on the bed with you at night. Penny is already fully house trained and very well mannered in the house. She gets along great with other dogs and was fine with our cat (mostly just ignored him) which will make her easy to integrate into a variety of homes. She has a spunky playful streak and loves a good romp in the yard. She enjoys playing with toys or chasing a ball. When Penny gets excited during play, she occasionally shows some mouthiness, and for that reason she may not be best suited for a family with young children. She just needs someone who can work with her more on this. She is treat-motivated and responds well to positive reinforcement training. I know that Penny is going to be a cherished companion for a lucky adopter!"

Pennywise has had some separation anxiety when she is placed in a crate and would do best in a home with someone who can help her learn that a crate is a safe space, or who is home with her enough to not require crating.

To learn more about Pennywise, please visit her at Guilford County Animal Services from 12-4 any day but Tuesday!
