My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you looking for a sweet kitten to take a nap with on a lazy afternoon? This is Bayou and he is looking for you! Bayou is calm, mellow and likes being close to his people. He is very food motivated, curious and full of kitten energy! He also enjoys playing with his siblings for a while and then taking a nap close to someone's legs.

He does great with his foster feline brothers and with his 6 yo human foster brother as well. Bayou would love to have a feline friend to grow up with, keep him busy and warm at night. You don't have a kitten at home? No worries! Bayou has three sisters, his favorite is Moonlight and together they make a fantastic duo. Their unique personalities will certainly bring much joy to your life.

Bayou has tested negtive for FIV and Feline Leukemia . His adoption fee includes: updated age-appropriate vaccines, his neuter surgery, microchip, and rabies vaccine when old enough

Visit www.pawsforlifenc.org to submit your application to adopt.

Please note: We do not adopt unaltered kittens to homes beyond a 45-minute drive of our veterinarians.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

1. Review the description of the pet you are interested in to make sure that the information we have fits with your particular needs and desires. In most cases, the information on the website is current and gives the information that we have about the particular pet. The picture of the pet does not tell the whole story.

2. Complete the adoption application at https://pawsforlifenc.org. Please make sure that you give us as much information about yourself as you can. List all animals currently living with you including other dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, and rodents. The application needs to be complete in order to help us determine if the pet you have chosen is a good match for your home.

3. Once the application is submitted we will contact you, your references, and your vet.

4. We require a home visit prior to dog adoptions.

5. If more than one person applies, we will go with the BEST fit. If all things are equal, we go in the order the applications were received.

6. Once the home visit has been completed, you will be asked to complete an adoption agreement.

7. The adoption fee is $325 for dogs under 6 months, $300 for 6 months and older. The adoption fee is $125 for kittens under 1 year ($225 for 2 kittens), $85 for cats 1 year and older. This fee helps us to provide the necessary medical care and other needs for the pets while in foster care.

8. All Paws For Life NC pets are spayed or neutered if old enough, current on shots, micro chipped, and to our knowledge, in good health before they are adopted out. Puppies under 6 months of age will require a $100 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee and a special puppy spay/neuter agreement. Kittens under 6 months will require a $50 refundable spay/neuter deposit in addition to the adoption fee. We are all volunteers and receive no monetary compensation for our work with the pets. The adoption fee is used to help defray costs in the rescue and care of the pets.

9. Congratulations! You are on your way to having your new companion. We hope that you and your new companion share a life of love and happiness. We welcome any comments you may wish to give us about your pet at any time.

More about this rescue

Paws for Life NC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, 100% volunteer, foster-based, animal rescue founded in 2002 to help solve the problem of homeless dogs and cats in Franklin and Northern Wake Counties, NC.

Paws for Life NC focuses on reducing the overpopulation of dogs and cats in the community. 1. We provide foster homes for homeless / rescued dogs and cats and find them forever homes. 2. We offer low cost vouchers for spay neuter of pets in low income homes through our “SNIF” Program. 3. We attend county meetings to advocate for improvement in animal welfare.
