My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Homie was brought in by his previous owner on November 3, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Looking for the ultimate companion? Meet Homie! With his sleek black coat and calm demeanor, Homie is a true gentleman. His previous owner called him "the best cat in the world" and couldn't say enough about how he's the picture of warmth and friendliness. Homie may need a little cozy space to adjust to his new surroundings at first, but once he's settled, he'll be ready to charm everyone in the household. Homie's easygoing nature makes him a great fit for a bustling home. He adores people, is comfortable with kids, and even has a stellar record with dogs and other cats! This guy loves everyone and every creature he meets, bringing a natural curiosity and gentle spirit to his interactions. And with a bit of brushing, his coat will be just as polished as his social skills. A happy home is what Homie deserves, and he's more than ready to bring his "best cat" vibes to the right family. Don't miss out on this mellow and loyal buddy-pack a top-loading cat carrier and get ready to bring home a true gem.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
