My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Katie is a gentle soul looking for her forever home! At first, she may be a bit shy, but once she finds her footing and a feline friend to cuddle up with, her true personality shines through. With her soft purrs and loving nature, Katie will capture your heart in no time.

This lovely girl dreams of an indoor-only home where she can feel safe and cherished. Having a companion cat by her side will help her blossom, turning her into the affectionate friend you've always wanted. Because she came from a place with many other cats, it is important that she goes to a home with a social feline friend to love and play with.

If you're ready to provide a warm and loving environment for Katie, she's eager to share her cuddles and quiet moments with you. Come meet her and discover the joy of having this sweet girl in your life!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
