If you are looking to add a dog to your family, Carmel is definilty a great choice.
He would be a great friend to another playful dog that you may have, or he would also be fine as the only dog. Carmel is under 1 yr old, 45 lbs., neutered and up to date on vaccines, Very affectionate, Playful, Friendly to everyone, is good with other playful dogs, We believe he is a Collie mix. He is Housebroken, Crate trained and Knows to sit for treats. He is learning to walk on a leash and also learn other commands, like Wait and Paw and Look at Me.
He needs a secure yard, (5 ft + fencing)
Everyone who meets him just loves him, and He loves everyone, and is so affectionate. He loves to play, and would be a good companion for an active family with another dog he could play with. He absolutely loves toys, especially Rope toys and balls. He has no toy or food aggression. He just loves belly rubs.
WJVA will pay for some of training for him with whoever Fosters or Adopts, to make him an even better dog.

Additional adoption info

We also do a home visit which provides an opportunity for the adopter to see the dog in their new environment, and allows us to review recommendations for a smooth transition for the dog and family. We then set up a Foster to Adopt for up to 2 wks, so the adopter can make sure it is a good match for both the dog and family.
Our adoption fees range from $150.00 for dogs 9 years and older, $250.00 for dogs up to 8 years old.
All adopted dogs are spayed/neutered, have appropriate vaccinations, and microchip identification. They are also tested for Heartworm and Lymes and on preventatives.

*Provide a loving home for the animal during its lifetime.

More about this rescue
West Jersey Volunteers for Animals (WJVA) is a non-profit group formed in 1998 by four volunteers determined to improve quality of life and medical care for homeless animals. We do not have a facility and rely on foster homes for the dogs we rescue from crowded shelters. Our adoption fees and donations are used to pay for our medical expenses. We spend thousands of dollars every year on saving homeless animals.
Our group is all volunteers with years of experience providing homeless animals with love, exercise, medical care, foster homes, training, and socialization. During the past 20 years, our group gained a great deal of wonderful contacts and support in the areas of general animal care, veterinary care, pet grooming and boarding, training, resolution of pet behavior problems, food donations, and fundraising. We are dedicated to continue to build our community partnerships to carry on our work on behalf of homeless animals.
