My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Amethyst! I came to Smittens with my mom, Opal, and siblings, Zircon and Amber. We were rescued from a parked trailer on a large lot. My siblings and I had lived there our whole lives. We had care takers there until a nice rescuer kept us for a few weeks before coming to Smittens. I can be shy at first, but I warm up with pets and tummy rubs. I like to give licks and nibbles of excitement and I purrr a lot! I am playful most of the time, but enjoy calm time too. I can be territorial over toys at times by giving a small growl, just letting others know I need space. I am excited to find a place to call home!

More about this rescue

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
