Meet Scrappie, who was adopted from North Ocean County Animal facility and recently returned when her owner was no longer able to care for her due to his medical condition. She has been taken in by NorthStar & is now in a loving foster home, looking for a new place to land.

Scrappie is a 13-year-old Cairn Terrier mix with a personality of his own. He is friendly, enjoys being petted, and will seek attention. He loves to hangout. If the weather is nice, he love to be outside hanging out on the deck. Otherwise, he is a couch potato. Scrappie LOVES being with people & will always nuzzle up to you on the couch or find his way onto your lap. He is a true lap dog &his foster says that she can never sit on the couch without Scrappie being beside her.

Scrappie loves people & visitors to the house. He is good with the young family members (ages 2, 3, & 5 years of age) who visit frequently. He does love his toys & will entertain himself. Scrappie has been around other dogs and cats in the past and currently live with two other dogs and a cat with no issues. Scrappie is very easy-going and enjoy hanging out with the group. Scrappie is also good on leash, easy to handle and would make a great addition to any home. Scrappie, still has lots of pep in this his step! He knows some basic commands like Sit, Come, Stay, Down & Shake. We feel that he would make a good pet for just about any home.

The first step is to submit an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org. Volunteers will process your application. Please be patient!

Home Check

In a very very small number of situations, a home check may be needed if we have any questions or concerns after processing the application.

Meet the Pet

A meet and greet will be arranged for approved applicants with you and your entire family including your current pets.

Puppy: 375.00 + 100.00 refundable spay/neuter deposit

In many areas of the country, especially in the South, the situation for animals is desperate: Chained outside and starving, homeless and running loose, or just simply no longer wanted and abandoned in an overburdened and underfunded facility that can’t possibly take another.
