What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I'm looking to find a new home for Benji, a 6-year-old, neutered male coon hound mix, currently located in Howard County, Maryland, weighing about 60 pounds. Benji recently came into my care after the passing of my sister, his previous owner. While I'd love to keep him, I have a cat, and his strong prey drive makes that impossible.
About Benji: Benji has a gentle, loving demeanor with people and other dogs. He's friendly and affectionate but, true to his hound instincts, he's not suitable for a home with cats or other small animals. Though I was informed he's protective over food, I haven't seen any signs of this since he's been with me. For safety, he's not recommended for homes with small children.
Benji has a lot of energy and would thrive in a home with a large, securely fenced yard where he can run and play. His ideal owner will have the patience to work with him on training and set boundaries.
