My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Opal. Aren't I such a beautiful girl? Until being rescued by Beagle Freedom Project, I was living on the streets of LA as a stray. I tried my hardest to find scraps to eat and a safe place to sleep, but life was so hard all on my own... I spent months starving, suffering from a severe flea infestation, and sleeping on a pile of trash I collected. I wasn't sure if help would ever come for me, but as soon as BFP heard my story they sprang into action! Despite everything that I've been through, I am such a sweetheart. I am gentle, trusting, and so unbelievably loving. I'm working on building my confidence, but it's already clear that I'm going to be the best companion in the world for my adopter. I'm also great with other dogs! Won't you consider giving me the loving home I've always dreamed of?

I would prefer a home that has: another dog to play with, a fenced yard, lots of love!

My location: LOS ANGELES, CA

*Please note that third-party sites like PetFinder or Adopt-a-Pet may sometimes list multiple locations for the same animal. My correct and current location is the one listed directly above!*

Additional adoption info

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Standardly, Beagle Freedom Project does not facilitate animal meet and greets. Instead, we begin all BFP adoptions with a trial-period; this is called ‘fostering-to-adopt’. At BFP, we believe that the best way for an adopter to be certain that an animal is their perfect match is by giving them an opportunity to truly know each other before finalizing an adoption. As BFP animals come from such traumatic pasts, they can often be shy upon a first meeting. Foster-to-adopt trials allow these special animals an opportunity to decompress and show their authentic personality before an official adoption decision is made.
