My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Benben, a gentle sweetheart with a soft spot for treats and cozy snuggles. This cautious little guy is closely bonded with his sister, Meimei, and often mirrors her every move.

Although he's a bit shy at first, Benben opens up in the right environment and will shower you with affection. He'll even make biscuits on your face, drool with happiness, and fall asleep in your arms once he feels truly safe. His love sometimes spills over to Meimei, whom he cuddles with such enthusiasm that he's been known to gently nudge her off the couch!

Benben is ready to find a patient, loving home where he can relax, snack on treats, and be his adorable self. A family with older children who are experienced and gentle with kittens would suit them as well.

Must be adopted with Meimei.

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
