Behavior:

Per Volunteer 11/5/24:

Such a sweet and affectionate boy!! He was pretty jumpy and excited for leashing! He was pretty patient while a new volunteer practiced leashing on him. When we got outside he was such a cuddle bug! He came right up to us, leaned his body in, and took pets all over. When walking he pulls moderately on leash- I'd recommend a harness and it would be no issue at all. Super friendly and wiggly! He wanted pets from everyone walking by and was sooo wiggly each time someone came to say hi to him. Needed some leash pressure to return to kennel but I don't blame him. Such a sweetie!

Per Staff 11/4/24:

BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: Mack

KNOWN HISTORY:

Stray

KENNEL PRESENTATION:

Mack was on the front half for cleaning and jumped up on the bars to say hello when he saw me. He got down when I opened the door and was easy to leash. Once secured he came right out.

LEASH SKILLS:

Pulls minimally/moderately

HANDLING:

In the room, Mack was very social and sweet. He sniffed around the room with a wagging tail and knocked his big head into everything and everyone. He allowed all handling and was extremely playful. He knows how to sit and takes treats very gently with his front teeth. He is very calm but does know his own weight and knows NO boundaries.

TOYS:

Per Staff 11/3/24:

Took Mack out for a group of three college freshmen after they finished volunteering for the day. They'd noticed him while handing out treats and found him adorable and goofy. I had no issues taking him out of kennel - outdoors, he was explorative and more timid than expected. His posture was low, tail was down or at a mid level wag, head mostly to the ground sniffing around. Was pro social and interested in getting attention from the volunteers. Tolerated all handling, nonreactive throughout.
