This handsome boy was brought to the shelter in Tennessee. He was a stray and nobody ever came looking for him. Hawk is not a down south type of dog as he is a husky mix. They love the snow and cold weather. This why Fetching Hearts Rescue took him in to find him a forever home who would love him.
Hawk is a very loving boy and enjoys being with his humans and dog friends. We definitely think that he should go with older kids just because he is on the jumpy side and we are trying to teach him not to do that. He probably would benefit from some basic command classes so he can learn not to jump and then also learn the commands he should. He is super smart and very food motivated so that should be very helpful when it comes to training him. He has learned some commands already such as paw, down and sit. He is also fairly good on leash when going on walks. Hawk loves his toys and will play fetch with you, just be prepared that he might not always bring the ball back LOL! He enjoys going to the dog park and even doggie daycare to play with all his friends. He has a very good personality. When it comes to playing with dogs. He would benefit from a fenced yard so he can run and get his energy out. Hawk also would love going on hikes with his new family or friend.
If you are looking to add to your family, Hawk is a sweetheart and is looking for that. He is such a happy boy and those eyes are always so stunning. He will make your day everyday by giving you lots of love. Apply for him today!!!

More about this rescue
Fetching Hearts Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)(3), volunteer run rescue that is dedicated to saving dogs who have been abused, neglected or abandoned and finding loving, caring homes for them.
We rely on a network of foster families so that each dog that we pull into the safety of our rescue is placed in a foster home and is no longer confined to a life in a kennel.
We are committed to helping dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes by partnering with shelters and animal control services right here in Connecticut as well as with several high kill shelters in the South.
We do a full assessment of each dog's temperament and health to ensure that we are able to find the most suitable home for them. Every dog is fully vetted - meaning they are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative and micro chipped - before being adopted.
The ASPCA estimates that approximately 3.3 million dogs in the United States enter shelters each year, of which approximately 670,000 are euthanized*. Our goal is to advocate for and provide education about the need for spaying and neutering to eliminate what has become an epidemic of unwanted dogs.*
