Here's what the humans have to say about me:
If you're searching for a devoted and loving best friend....Harry is the pup you want to have around! Harry, at between 1 and 2 years old and 14 lbs is just naturally a lover and when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt.
We realize the photos of this gorgeous dog are awful! Harry (as a non-shedding pup) was severely matted and it became clear that he had to be shaved to the skin. Now shaved, while not the greatest grooming as it was done at the shelter, Harry is now free of the thick mattes that were so painful. We've requested new, after-grooming photos and will update immediately upon receipt of them.
Harry is a beautiful and loving Poodle / Bichon Frise mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs among the most popular and beloved breed mixes available today. Harry is also a great choice for those that suffer from allergies. Poodle / Bichon mixes are among the most hypoallergenic breeds available today.
Farfel's Rescue received a plea from a local Arkansas rescue to save Harry's life. He was pulled by rescuers from a local pound to insure his safety from euthanasia due to a lack of space. They described this Poodle / Bichon mix as sweet and loving with a very positive attitude once he's comfortable in his environment.
As per Harry's rescuer: Harry is a happy go lucky guy with so much love in his heart. He's a cuddler and snuggler..and once he's enjoyed some play and fun, he's ready for serious loving! Sweetie-pie Harry loves to to cuddle close on the couch for TV watching, or just hanging out with his favorite people is just about perfect for this best friend. An occasional kiss from Harry, once comfortable in his new home, is inevitable. He's a sensitive and very kind dog who derives so much joy from his time spent with his favorite people and his doggy friends.
Harry is a young, playful and silly pup who will love his family with all his heart. He also enjoys other playful and gentle dogs to play with.. and then lying together in the sunshine enjoying a beautiful day is perfect for this loving guy.
Harry will have so much fun exploring, and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with other hikers is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. He is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude...just say the word and up Harry jumps for a car ride, a fun backyard game or just a sociable walk around the neighborhood.
Harry's rescuer had the following to brag about this sweet guy:
Harry is an extremely affectionate and loving dog once he becomes comfortable in his environment. We would love to see him in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet pup. We'd hate to see Harry left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Harry will thrive on spending the time near his people..getting loved up, periodically throughout the course of the day.
Farfel's Rescue would like Harry to be in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt Harry out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.
Harry will require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately 4 times a year) and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep his coat cottony-soft, super-healthy and matte-free.
Harry has been fully vetted and vaccinated to support Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. He has also been neutered to align with our vow to a euthanasia-free future in the canine population.
Harry will be arriving on transport in Denver on Wednesday 11/13/2024. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and loving best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.
**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Harry please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
