Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Tye is a 2-year-old altered male who came to us as an owner surrender with four other dogs. Upon arrival, staff noticed Tye was struggling to breathe. Tye was taken to the vet, where we found out that he had a fracture in his nose that our vets sadly believe was caused by being kicked in the face. This causes Tye to have a rougher time breathing; however, it is not thought to be affecting his quality of life as the fracture seems to be healing on its own, and with a little more time healing, his breathing should improve. This is not affecting his lifestyle, except that he can't be as active as an average dog. Tye does enjoy going for short walks and playing with his toys. Sadly, Tye did not come from home entirely of love, so he will require a few extract meet n greets and an adopter who is patient and willing to give him the time he needs to be comfortable and feel safe. Tye would do best with no children and would need to meet any other dogs he will be living with.

More about this shelter
We make every effort to find homes for every animal in our care. When our shelter is over-crowded, we rely on a network of "foster families" to take care of our pets. All the while, we have increased our efforts to "get the word out" about our pets (e.g. this website, pictures, newspaper publicity, etc.) Our efforts pay off.
The Staff and Board of Directors at the Humane Society love pets, and our actions bear out that simple fact. Our animal guests get the very best care while they are with us.
Please help! We need volunteers to help us exercise the dogs. We try to walk the dogs each day to provide them with the exercise and attention they so desperately need. You can volunteer as little or as much as you like. If you would be interested in helping us care for our animal guests, please call the shelter at 814-443-2121.
