My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Toga Party, the dog who's always ready to celebrate! This lively pup earned his name by bringing joy and excitement wherever he goes, making every day feel like a festive occasion. Toga Party has a natural zest for adventure, and he loves nothing more than taking long sniff walks, his nose constantly exploring every new scent. He walks best on a harness and is very treat-motivated, which makes training sessions both fun and rewarding. As the shelter's self-appointed squirrel patrol, Toga Party takes his "duties seriously, always keeping an eye on those sneaky critters with enthusiasm.

Though he was found as a stray, Toga Party quickly charmed the shelter staff with his friendly, social personality. He recently enjoyed a "dog's day out" with a volunteer and did wonderfully with her child, showing his gentle side. While he's selective with other dogs and has a high arousal play style, Toga Party would be happiest as the only dog in the home, soaking up all the attention. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who's ready to bring a little celebration to every moment, Toga Party is eager to be your new best friend!

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
