Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Bitty, a feisty little lady who’s ready to find her true forever home! Born at the shelter in 2018, Bitty was adopted as a kitten, but she’s found her way back here—through no fault of her own. Needless to say, she wasn’t thrilled about it! With gentle patience, time, and plenty of Churu treats, Bitty has shown her affectionate side, circling our legs, giving head boops, and leaning in for scritches. She knows her boundaries, though, and will let you know when she’s had enough. Bitty has lived with a dog before and might do well with a calm, cat-savvy pup. If you’re looking for a kitty who’s as independent as she is loving, Bitty’s ready to meet you!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
