Shadow is a big, handsome boy with a heart as soft as his shiny black fur. At 15 pounds of pure love, this "house panther" was sadly surrendered when his owner passed away, and the family couldn’t keep him. Now, he’s ready to find his new forever home where he can be showered with love—just like he deserves.
This sweet boy adores belly rubs and gentle pets, and he’ll happily stretch out to let you pamper him. Shadow has a mellow, affectionate nature, making him the perfect companion for someone who’s looking for a calm and loving feline friend.
He’s currently in a foster home where he’s shown that he could thrive as either an only cat or in a home with another feline friend, as long as introductions are slow and steady. Shadow’s laid-back personality means he’ll adjust well to the right environment, and he’s always ready for some quality cuddle time.
If you’re looking for a big, sweet boy who will fill your home with love and quiet companionship, Shadow is the perfect match. Come meet this gentle house panther and see for yourself just how special he is!
Shadow is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.
Adoption fees are as follows: $155 for a single cat or kitten, $195 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

AHSEM treats every adoption as "foster to adopt" This means that the first two weeks in which you have the cat is the "foster period." We do our best to ensure the right match for all involved and want to give the cat(s) time to decompress and adapt to their new environment. However, we realize sometimes things don't work out as expected. Therefore, during that two-week period, if something doesn’t work out you can bring the cat back. We will always take our cats back even after the "foster to adopt" period. We would hate to see them end up at a kill shelter, abandoned, or any other unsafe situation.
